Health & Safety Policy

Continuum Live is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, freelancers, contractors, clients, and members of the public who may be affected by our activities.

We recognise that effective health and safety management is essential to the successful delivery of live events and take our responsibilities seriously.


Statement of Intent

Continuum Live will:

  • Provide safe systems of work
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent accidents and injury
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
  • Provide information, instruction, and supervision where necessary
  • Encourage safe working practices at all times

Safety is a shared responsibility and everyone working with Continuum Live is expected to take an active role in maintaining a safe environment.


Responsibilities

Continuum Live (Company / Management)

Continuum Live will:

  • Assess risks associated with all activities
  • Provide suitable and maintained equipment
  • Ensure competent personnel are used
  • Provide risk assessments and method statements
  • Liaise with venues and clients on safety matters
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses

Employees, Freelancers & Contractors

All individuals working with Continuum Live must:

  • Take reasonable care of their own safety and others
  • Follow safe systems of work
  • Use equipment correctly
  • Wear appropriate PPE when required
  • Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions
  • Cooperate with safety procedures and inductions

Risk Management

Continuum Live will carry out risk assessments for all work activities, including but not limited to:

  • Manual handling
  • Electrical systems
  • Working at height
  • Load-in and load-out
  • Public interaction
  • Outdoor events

Control measures will be implemented to reduce risk to an acceptable level.


Training & Competence

Continuum Live ensures that all personnel:

  • Are competent for their role
  • Hold appropriate experience or qualifications
  • Are briefed on site-specific risks
  • Receive inductions where required

Equipment Safety

All equipment used by Continuum Live will:

  • Be suitable for the task
  • Be maintained and tested
  • Be used in accordance with manufacturer guidance
  • Be removed from service if damaged or unsafe

Manual Handling

Continuum Live promotes safe manual handling by:

  • Avoiding unnecessary lifting
  • Using mechanical aids where possible
  • Encouraging team lifting
  • Training staff in correct lifting techniques

No individual is expected to lift items beyond their physical capability.


Working at Height

When working at height:

  • Suitable access equipment will be used
  • Equipment will be inspected before use
  • Overreaching will be avoided
  • Fall risks will be minimised

Electrical Safety

Continuum Live ensures:

  • All electrical equipment is tested where required
  • Only trained personnel work on electrical systems
  • Power is isolated before maintenance
  • Faulty equipment is removed from use

Fire Safety

Continuum Live will:

  • Maintain clear access to exits
  • Follow venue fire procedures
  • Participate in evacuations when required
  • Avoid creating fire hazards

Behaviour & Fitness for Work

Continuum Live operates a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Unsafe behaviour
  • Aggression or harassment

Anyone unfit for work will be removed from site.


Accidents & Reporting

All accidents, incidents, and near-misses must be reported to Continuum Live.

Records will be kept and appropriate action taken to prevent recurrence.


Environmental Responsibility

Continuum Live commits to:

  • Reducing waste
  • Reusing equipment where possible
  • Recycling materials
  • Responsible disposal

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant change in operations.
